ORLEN has become a Main Partner of the 3rd edition of Timeless Film Festival Warsaw

We are delighted to announce that a cultural patron of particular importance has joined our circle of partners: ORLEN has become a Main Partner of the 3rd edition of Timeless Film Festival Warsaw. Together, we are joining forces to bring film classics back to life and present them in a new light. This partnership will allow us to open up the rich legacy of world and Polish cinema to audiences on an even broader scale, presenting it in a form that is both contemporary and accessible.

A shared mission: classics in a new light

Timeless Film Festival Warsaw was born out of a passion for timeless films – works that, despite the passing decades, continue to shape the sensibilities of new generations and spark discussion. Our aim is to rediscover the canon: on the one hand by screening meticulously restored digital versions of great classics, and on the other by introducing “new classics” into the Polish cultural circuit – works that have not yet had the chance to be fully experienced on the big screen.

The 3rd edition of Timeless Film Festival Warsaw will take place from 17 to 27 April 2026 in three Warsaw cinemas: Muranów, Luna and Iluzjon. The programme will include more than 170 films – both features and shorts – from over 25 countries. These will be presented through director and actor retrospectives, including strands devoted to Peter Weir, Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Barbara Sass and Brigitte Bardot, as well as thematic sections such as Italian giallo cinema and Cinephile’s Feast, featuring titles including Requiem for a Dream and Dancer in the Dark.

Requiem for a Dream

The festival programme will also be enriched by a series of music events. On 24 April 2026 at 8:30 pm, the Mazovian Institute of Culture will host a concert by Gruppo di Improvvisazione Giallo, a project that perfectly complements the festival’s Giallo!!! section. The ensemble was initiated by musician and sound artist Hanno Leichtmann, a key figure on Berlin’s electronic and experimental scene.

On 26 April 2026 at 8:00 pm, Luna Cinema will host a special live cinema event built around the contemporary silent film Silent Trilogy, with the three-part work accompanied by live music and sound effects.

The 3rd edition of the festival will culminate in a special event at the Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera. On 27 April 2026 at 7:00 pm, audiences will see The Saragossa Manuscript, directed by Wojciech Jerzy Has, with live music composed by Krzysztof Penderecki.

Thanks to ORLEN’s involvement, this fresh look at the history of cinema gains new energy. The partnership will allow us to realise our most ambitious programming plans – from large-scale symphonic events to carefully curated retrospectives – while building a bridge between tradition and modernity.

Roman Gutek, Timeless Film Festival Warsaw:

“We are delighted to welcome ORLEN to the group of partners supporting Timeless Film Festival Warsaw. For us, this is not only organisational support, but above all an expression of a shared belief in culture as a space for dialogue, reflection and the building of lasting values. We believe this collaboration will allow us to fulfil the festival’s mission even more fully – to revisit the most important works of world and Polish cinema, and to create a unique meeting place for audiences, filmmakers and all lovers of film. Partnership with ORLEN opens up new possibilities for the festival’s development and strengthens its position as Poland’s leading event dedicated to film classics.”

ORLEN’s involvement as a Patron of Culture helps make possible artistic projects that respond to the expectations of today’s discerning audiences. Together with ORLEN, we will ensure that Timeless Film Festival Warsaw is an event that not only recalls the past, but actively shapes the tastes of contemporary filmgoers, making high culture open, engaging and inspiring for all.

Together, we will continue our mission to ensure that film classics are not merely relics of the past, but a living part of Warsaw’s contemporary cultural life
