Gone With The Wind

przemoc fizyczna, nadużywanie alkoholu, sceny erotyczne i nagość

An epic, two-part Hollywood melodrama based on Margaret Mitchell’s bestselling 1936 novel. Set against the turbulent backdrop of the American Civil War, the film by George Cukor and Sam Wood follows the fate of one of the most indecisive and neurotic heroines in cinema history. Scarlett O’Hara, the beautiful and spoiled daughter of a wealthy Southern plantation owner, is forced to confront history unfolding before her eyes. Torn between love affairs, living in the shadow of war’s bloody toll and constant hunger, Scarlett is a total survivor – capable of enduring even the harshest circumstances. Though Gone with the Wind romanticizes the Old South and takes a largely uncritical stance toward slavery, it continues to captivate as a universal story of human passions, female resilience, and devastating loss. On screen: the charming Clark Gable, the spirited Vivien Leigh, and the moving performance of Hattie McDaniel – the first Black Oscar winner.

His most famous movies are box office hits: the melodrama of all time Gone with the Wind (an Oscar for Best Directing) and The Wizard of Oz.
