Musicals Through the Decades
The gentle stroking of the floor by Fred and Ginger in Top Hat. The feverish combing of hair with the palm of the hand, revealing the melancholic passion of Judy Garland in A Man That Got Away from A Star Is Born. The beautiful, appropriately exalted Sunrise, Sunset, resounding during Tzeitel and Motel’s wedding in Fiddler on the Roof. These all are the moments that imprint on the body: goosebumps appear on the forearms, a tear drips down the cheek, under the eyelids images are meticulously stored.
Despite its theatrical origins, the musical is quintessentially cinematic. At Timeless Film Festival Warsaw, we aim to prove that, contrary to popular opinion, there’s something for everyone in this genre.
