After the huge success of its Warsaw performances, the cinematic spectacle Amadeus Live is coming back to Poland.
On June 24 (Tuesday), ticket sales will begin for the exceptional screening of Miloš Forman’s Amadeus, presented with live accompaniment by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and choir, conducted by world-renowned Dutch maestro Ernst van Tiel. Audiences are invited to take a musical journey to 18th-century Vienna, in the company of the cheeky genius Mozart and his resentful rival Salieri.
Amadeus is an operatic film – a breathtaking celebration of the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This enduring tale of creative rivalry – featuring Tom Hulce as the flamboyant genius Mozart and F. Murray Abraham as the embittered Salieri – won multiple Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup, and Sound. It is one of the most celebrated films of the 20th century and solidified Forman’s status as a master of world cinema.
This extraordinary evening will be a tribute to a film that continues to captivate audiences of all generations – a feast for music and cinema lovers alike.
With this performance, Gdańsk and Sopot join an exclusive list of cities – such as London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, and Toronto – that have hosted this one-of-a-kind cinematic event.
