After the great success of its Warsaw performances, the spectacular production Amadeus Live returns to Poland.
On June 24 (Tuesday), ticket sales will begin for the exceptional screening of Miloš Forman’s Amadeus, accompanied live by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and choir under the baton of renowned Dutch conductor Ernst van Tiel. Audiences are invited to take a musical journey to 18th-century Vienna, in the company of the cheeky genius Mozart and his resentful rival Salieri.
Amadeus is a film-opera – a majestic and transcendent celebration of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s music. This timeless tale of rivalry between two composers – the joyous, vulgar genius (Tom Hulce as Mozart) and the proud, talentless schemer (F. Murray Abraham as Salieri) – received Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup, and Sound. The film has become one of the most acclaimed of the 20th century and cemented Forman’s legacy as one of the greatest filmmakers in both European and Hollywood cinema.
This evening promises to be a tribute to a cinematic masterpiece – one that will enchant not only classical music lovers, but anyone who treasures film and wants to experience an extraordinary celebration of a work that appears on countless “greatest of all time” lists.
Łódź will thus join an elite group of cities – including London, Tokyo, Toronto, Seoul, and Paris – that have hosted this unforgettable production.
