Poltergeist

przemoc fizyczna, głośne dźwięki i migające światła, samookaleczanie

A family moves into their dream home—unaware that it was built atop an old Indigenous burial ground. Surrounded by eerie legends, from the use of real human skeletons on set to rumors of a curse on the cast, Poltergeist remains one of horror’s most iconic films. Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper, it transforms idyllic suburban life into a nightmare of supernatural terror. Stunning special effects and a masterful build-up of tension create an atmosphere of escalating chaos. Meanwhile, the image of a haunted television serves as a chilling symbol—an ominous warning about the media as a modern-day portal to the unknown. A horror classic that still mesmerizes with its suggestiveness.

Mikołaj Mizak

Tobe Hooper (1943–2017) was an American director who redefined horror cinema. His The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) is one of the most influential horror films of all time – raw, unsettling, and ahead of its era. Its success paved his way to Hollywood, where he directed the cult classic Poltergeist (1982) and the dark sci-fi horror Lifeforce (1985). His films stood out for their claustrophobic tension, brutal realism, and underlying social critique, shaping the aesthetics of modern horror.
